THE PAGEANT

The Platinum Jubilee Pageant

From March 2021 to March 2023, Rosanna was the CEO of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant. She had 15 months to create a once in a lifetime spectacular event to thank Her Late Majesty The Queen; to look back with gratitude on 70 years of dedicated service, and, to look forward with optimism to our shared future.

From the outset, Rosanna wanted to create a lasting legacy past the day itself and to ensure that the Pageant had a positive impact on the communities it touched.

The project showcased everything that Rosanna is about – Event direction, coaching of team members and interns, speaking about the project, making a positive impact on the community and she managed to fit in a Channel Relay Swim in July 2021 too!

Our Legacy

Our legacy was about coming together for our future:

Through kindness and compassion towards ourselves, towards others and towards nature, the Pageant aimed to foster deeper unity between, and celebration of, our rich and diverse cultures.

Legacy - Sustainability

What we achieved?

INDIVIDUALS:

Accessibility, diversity & inclusion

We worked hard to ensure the Pageant represented all the people that make up our society through policies, working with an accessibility advisor and recruited interns through Creative Access.

COMMUNITY:

Social Outreach, Community Groups and re-emergence of the Creative Industry post-Covid

We ran various projects including a photography project and a carbon-reducing project in schools to engage with those that may not traditionally engage with a Jubilee. We recruited 100 volunteers through the National Citizen Service. Performers came from across the UK and Commonwealth.

ECO SYSTEMS:

Monitoring, measuring and offsetting Carbon impact

Sustainability was on every agenda and embedded in everything we did. We had a food charter, travel plans and a Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle plan for everything. We saved 24 tonnes of carbon through our policies and we removed 100% of our carbon emissions after the event.

It was a joyful spectacle and it has been incredible to see the impact living on within the communities that we worked with.
